Adelbert Niemeyer (Warburg 1867 - 1932 Munich)

Adelbert Niemeyer studied at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf from 1884-88 and then moved to Friedrich Fehr's private art school in Munich and finally to the Académie Julian in Paris. From 1907 he held a professorship at the Munich School of Applied Arts. A founding member of the Deutscher Werkbund, he distinguished himself primarily with ceramic designs for various porcelain and ceramic manufacturers, including KPM Nymphenburg and Meissen as well as Reinhold Merkelbach, Grenzhausen.

Niemeyer received a gold medal at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis.
