Biography

After finishing his studies of industrial design at the Ecole Supérieure du Design Industriel in Paris, he founded his own design studio there. His studio is dedicated to industrial design and the planning of large-scale interior design concepts.

One of his most important works to date is the design of the 'Rainbow chair' from 2000, produced by Cappellini. It embodies all the elements that make Norguet's work unique; including formal restraint, a high graphic quality and a strong sense of color. The 'Rainbow chair' quickly became a design icon and is now part of the permanent collection of MoMa in New York.

Patrick Norguet has always drawn inspiration from his surroundings to create timeless products. At the heart of his work is his encounter with the manufacturer and the possibilities of using their know-how to realize a creative project, in order to ultimately win over the user in an discreet yet long-lasting way.

Today, the French designer is one of the best known players on the international scene. He designed and worked - partly until today - for famous names like Arflex, Artemide and Cassina as well as big fashion companies like Yves Saint Laurent, Dior and Hermès.
