Sterling silver, whiplash decoration in relief. Execution: Theodor Müller, Weimar or Koch & Bergfeld, Bremen. D. 27.7 cm. Weight: 657 grams. Marked: Artist's signet, 925, crescent and crown.
Provenance: Estate of Theodor Koerner junior.
The relief decoration of the flag in the form of stylised waves is discreetly raised and resembles the whiplash motif of the Meissen porcelain service created at the same time. The plate was designed as part of the silver gift for the wedding of the Grand Duke of Weimar.
