Bodo Rasch
Chair for the Café Insel in the building of the German Employees' Union in Stuttgart
Designed 1946-49. Stained wood and plywood, plastic covering. 75.5 x 44.5 x 49 cm.
While Willi Baumeister was responsible for the interior design, Bodo Rasch designed the interior of this then-well-known artists' meeting place. His friend Otto Dix referred to Bodo Rasch in a letter as the 'Raphael of chairs.'
