Rupert Carabin. Sehr seltener figürlicher Tabaktopf. Modell für die Weltausstellung Paris 1900. Fayence, grün und braun glasiert. Halbplastische Frauenfigur als eine Art Handhabe, sich an einen Kürbis schmiegend. H. 13 cm. Am Boden bezeichnet: Künstlersignet RCf, 13 (geprägt). Eine andere Ausformung des Topfes wurde von dem Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg unter Justus Brinkmann 1900 auf der Weltausstellung in Paris erworben. Sie ging während des zweiten Weltkrieges oder unmittelbar danach verloren. Ein Ersatz wurde 1975 aus dem Pariser Kunsthandel erworben. Das Museumsstück und das vorliegende Exemplar sind demnach die einzigen bisher bekannten Stücke.

Rupert Carabin. Very rare figural tobacco pot. Model for the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. Faience, green and brown glazed. Semi-sculptural female figure as a kind of handle, nestling against a pumpkin. H. 13 cm. Inscribed on the bottom: Artist's signet RCf, 13 (embossed). A different version of the pot was acquired by the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg under Justus Brinkmann at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. It was lost during or immediately after the Second World War. A replacement was purchased from the Paris art market in 1975. The museum piece and the present example are therefore the only pieces known to date.
